INSPECTION & TESTING

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS INSPECTION & TESTING
The fire alarm system is required to be tested annually per NFPA-72 chapter 14 and its sub-sections by the building owner. Delegating this responsibility to Peace of Mind Fire & Security you can rest assure the system will be fully tested by a NICET certified engineering technician.

The proper NFPA-72 paperwork will be completed and filed to maintain compliance with national, state, and jurisdictional standards.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING INSPECTION & TESTING
Per NFPA-101 Section 31-11.3.7 all emergency lights require a 30-second test at 30-day intervals and an annual test for a 90 min duration.

Peace of Mind prepares forms & trains key building staff on how to conduct the 30-second test. If a unit fails during the 30-second test or during the annual inspection performed by Peace of Mind the emergency lighting unit serviced.

PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSPECTION, TESTING & MAINTENANCE
Portable fire extinguishers provide trained staff the means to mitigate and contain small fires.
The NFPA-10 is the code that governs the application, use, inspection & maintenance of portable fire extinguishers.
​
Fire extinguishers must be visually inspected every 30 days and inspected annually. Extinguishers such as an ABC after 6 years are required to undergo a hydrostatic test.
​
There are a variety of classes when it comes to fire extinguishers, therefore the importance of training and proper placement is critical for the extinguisher to be effective.
